In part 1 of this letter, the land of America, a land the Lord says is a land “choice above all other lands,” is identified as the land consecrated for the gathering of his people, as he sets his hand the second time to gather them, for the last time, to Zion.
Of course, this work of the gathering together of his ancient covenant people, which he calls a marvelous work and wonder, a work which he declares shall be everlasting, either on the one hand or on the other—either to the convincing of the children of men unto peace and life eternal, or unto the deliverance of them to the hardness of their hearts and the blindness of their minds unto their being brought down into captivity, and also into destruction, both temporally and spiritually, according to the captivity of the devil -—is a work that is vehemently opposed by the great and abominable church, the mother of harlots.
Part 2 of this open letter was about that opposition, about how the great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, would gather together its multitudes, which are upon all the face of the earth, to fight against the church of the Lamb of God, and how the clash of the two churches would turn out.
This means that, effectively, there are two churches only: There is the great and abominable church, the mother of harlots, and there is the church of the Lamb of God. Whosoever does not belong to the church of the Lamb, which now has been re-established upon the earth, as the Lord poured down righteousness from above and sent forth truth out of the earth, belongs to the great and abominable church, whose founder is the devil, and who is gathering its multitudes together to fight against the church of the Lamb.
The Redemption of Zion
Now, in part 3, the final part of this open letter, I want to explain, to the degree possible, the Lord’s revealed will concerning the redemption of Zion, in America. This is where it gets touchy, of course, because it deals with our current situation, which is defined by the varied and complex currents of culture, religion and politics, with all their boundaries and forms, with which we have grown up, as citizens of the United States of America and which we have accepted as normal.
The fact is, we are embedded into the government bureaucracy, and the USA’s social and economic institutions, and, with so many of us, LDS Christians, and non-LDS Christians alike, working as officials or behind the scenes employees of federal, state, local and tribal governments, or large corporations, or educational/social institutions of one kind or another, all of which have been amalgamated, through a myriad of complex economic, social and legal dependencies, into one giant, beastly system that is being transformed politically and technologically in order to enslave the masses, how is it possible that the Lord can bring again Zion, as the prophets teach?
According to the Lord, the saints must impart of their substance to the poor and afflicted among them, and be united according to the union required by the law of heaven, because, by definition, there are no poor among the people of Zion and they are of one heart and one mind. In short, Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of heaven; otherwise he cannot receive her unto himself.
Hence, the objective of the people of Zion is to ensure that, through the providence of God, notwithstanding the tribulation which shall descend upon them, the church of the Lamb may stand independent above all other creatures beneath the celestial world.
The Fate of Those Who Fight Against Zion
It is not difficult to see, therefore, that this church objective is in direct conflict with the objective of the socialist state. The proponents of the scientific dictatorship, called the New World Order (the remnant of the heathen, as the Lord refers to them, which we know as the Illuminati), work in the dark and control an international banking cartel, which is above the law and has been working very hard to take the gold and silver of the world in order to buy up armies and navies, popes and priests, and rule with blood and horror on this earth.
However, from the prophecy of Isaiah, Chapter 29, we know that all the nations that fight against Zion, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision; yea, it shall be unto them, even as unto a hungry man which dreams, and behold he eats but he awakens and his soul is empty; or like unto a thirsty man which dreams, and behold he drinks but he awakens and behold he is faint, and his soul hath appetite; yea, even so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion. Indeed, the Lord declares to the evil cabal specifically, through Isaiah,
Wo unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord! And their works are in the dark; and they say: Who seeth us, and who knoweth us? And they also say: Surely, your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay. But behold, I will show unto them, saith the Lord of Hosts, that I know all their works. For shall the work say of him that made it, he made me not? Or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, he had no understanding? (2 Ne 27)
No wonder the prophet John said to the saints in his day, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” He that is in us is the God of Israel, and he that is in the world is Lucifer. He that is greater continues through Isaiah to proclaim:
28 … I will show unto the children of men that it is yet a very little while and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field; and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest.
29 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
30 And the meek also shall increase, and their joy shall be in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
31 For assuredly as the Lord liveth they shall see that the terrible one is brought to naught, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off;
32 And they that make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of naught.
33 Therefore, thus saith the Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.
34 But when he seeth his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.
35 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine. (2 Ne 27)
Wow. Can anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart full of belief and integrity, fail to see the power of this vision of the Lord’s marvelous work and wonder? These are the words of God Almighty. His words do not come back to him unfulfilled, they do not return unto him void. He will fulfill all of them to the letter. He will bring again Zion!
Resistance is Victory
However, there is a tremendous contrast between this vision of the future and the current prospects of the American people, which many see as looking more like communist China than Zion. What is to happen that will change things?
Is it possible that the American patriots will “take back their country?” If so, how? Will the Tea Party and Constitutionalists overcome their opposition and reform the nation through political action? or will the American slaves successfully rise up against their masters, who are marshaled, equipped and disciplined for war?
No, it is more and more apparent that any such hope is now in vain, given the level of corruption and deceit that is ubiquitous throughout the nation. Only a major religious influence would have the universal power to reform the national character at this point in time, and, as we saw in part 2, the majority of the American churches are now part of the problem, not the solution.
Yet, we are commanded to resist and to not suffer the evil cabal to get above us, as it is now doing, or else nothing but destruction awaits it. According to the voices from the dust, whose words are recorded in the book that Isaiah saw, as seen in verse 29 quoted above, which are prophesied to be heard by the ears of the deaf and to enable the eyes of the blind to see out of obscurity and out of darkness, great destruction awaits the gentiles of our nation, if we suffer these things to be. Here are the words from the book:
18 And it came to pass that they [the ancient inhabitants of America] formed a secret combination, even as they of old; which combination is most abominable and wicked above all, in the sight of God;
19 For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man.
20 And now I, Moroni, do not write the manner of their oaths and combinations, for it hath been made known unto me that they are had among all people, and they are had among the Lamanites.
21 And they have caused the destruction of this people of whom I am now speaking, and also the destruction of the people of Nephi.
22 And whatsoever nation shall uphold such secret combinations, to get power and gain, until they shall spread over the nation, behold, they shall be destroyed; for the Lord will not suffer that the blood of his saints, which shall be shed by them, shall always cry unto him from the ground for vengeance upon them and yet he avenge them not.
23 Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain—and the work, yea, even the work of destruction come upon you, yea, even the sword of the justice of the Eternal God shall fall upon you, to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be.
24 Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.
25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.
26 Wherefore, I, Moroni, am commanded to write these things that evil may be done away, and that the time may come that Satan may have no power upon the hearts of the children of men, but that they may be persuaded to do good continually, that they may come unto the fountain of all righteousness and be saved. (Ether 8)
These words have been available to our fathers since the days that Joseph Smith Jr. translated them by the power of God, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints published them as the Book of Mormon, in 1830, 183 years ago.
Since that time, they have gone out to the whole world, in more than 100 languages. Clearly, the nations of the Gentiles, the kings, presidents, rulers and the people they govern, have had the words of the book available to them for some time.
With the 2008 U.S. Presidential Campaign and the candidacy of the Mormon Mitt Romney, and also the popularity of the Broadway musical, The Book of Mormon, which ridicules the book and the Mormon missionaries who share it, the American press has dubbed the spotlight of international publicity that is suddenly shinning on the Mormons and the Book of Mormon, as “the Mormon moment.”
However, in spite of all the controversy and the national and international discussion of the Latter-Day Saints and the Book of Mormon, few patriots understand the things discussed in this letter, and on the website, voicesfromthedust.org.
Flee Unto My Mountain
The words of the book present a most serious moral imperative to every soul on earth: Come unto Jesus and be saved or perish in unbelief. Those who come shall be numbered, shall be counted, with his covenant people, the house of Israel, and, with them, partake of the promised blessings in Zion.
In other words, the voice of the Lord unto every soul is “flee” unto his mountain, mount Zion. Believe that he has re-established his church, and that he preserved the Book of Mormon, sending it forth from the earth, in fulfillment of Biblical prophecy to that effect, in connection with performing his great and marvelous work of gathering in his elect from the four quarters of the earth.
His elect are all those, Jew and Gentile, who hear his voice and hearken unto him, and enter into the new and everlasting covenant, through the waters of baptism. They become the saints of God and are numbered with his ancient covenant people, those who are heirs of the great promises, who gird up their loins and prepare for the day of his coming in glory, as the King of Zion.
Unfortunately, there are many patriotic Americans, who confess Jesus with their mouths, and do honor him with their lips, but their hearts are far from him and their fear toward him is taught by the precept of men, who are very scornful of this message. They will not come to Zion.
Many of these include most Christian pastors and ministers, who will not believe the message. Indeed, many of these who actually fight against the establishment of Zion, rejecting the prophets, as did the unbelieving Jews, have made international headlines with their scorn.
Almost with one voice, they raise their objection to Mormon doctrine, ridiculing and profaning their temple worship, as the more than 140 Mormon temples around the world, like the cedars of Lebanon, have indeed become a fruitful field, but which these scornful people esteem as a forest.
As we have already noted in this letter, the Lord himself predicted this unbelief of the Gentiles, but he promised that the life of his servant would be in his hands, and that the unbelievers would not be able to hurt him, although he shall be marred because of them. Still, in spite of this, the Lord said that he will heal him and that he will show unto the children of men that his wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil.
This rejection of Jesus by the Gentiles, who refuse to recognize him as the Lord and Savior, because of the precepts of men, is not unlike that of the unbelieving Jews who faced a similar situation in the time of Isaiah, to whom the Lord said:
8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:
10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters’ vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
Does this not perfectly describe our situation today? Surely, the rejection of Christ and the trusting in the precepts of men, such as evolution, depopulation and now even transhumanism, which the evil cabal has managed to inculcate into the minds of the masses over the last 50 years, has become an iniquity so great that it is likened unto “a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly, at an instant.”
The Voice of Warning
But now, before the wall breaks, we can see that the things which have been written out of the sealed book are of great worth unto the children of men, and especially unto the descendants of the ancient Americans, which are a remnant of the house of Israel.
And the things that are written say, in part, that today we have many churches which are built up, and not unto the Lord, and the one says unto the other: Behold, I, I am the Lord’s; and the others say: I, I am the Lord’s; and thus every one says that has built up churches, and not unto the Lord.
And they contend one with another; and their priests contend one with another, and they teach with their learning, and deny the Holy Ghost, which gives utterance.
And they deny the power of God, the Holy One of Israel; and they say unto the people in books, magazines and songs: “Hearken unto us, and hear our precept, ‘God is dead,’ for behold there is no God today, for the Lord and the Redeemer has done his work, and he has given his power unto men.”
They say, “Behold, hearken unto my precept; if anyone says there is a miracle wrought by the hand of the Lord, believe it not; for this day he is not a God of miracles; he has done his work.”
Yea, and there are many which say: “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.”
And there are also many which say: “Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God—he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.”
Yea, and there are many which teach after this manner, false and vain and foolish doctrines, and are puffed up in their hearts, and seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and their works are in the dark.”
And the blood of the saints, which has and shall be shed by them, shall cry from the ground against them.”
Yea, they have all gone out of the way; they have become corrupted.”
Because of pride, and because of false teachers, and false doctrine, their churches have become corrupted, and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up.”
They rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because in their pride they are puffed up.”
They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err, because they are taught by the precepts of men.”
O the wise, and the learned, and the rich, that are puffed up in the pride of their hearts, and all those who preach false doctrines, and all those who commit whoredoms, and pervert the right way of the Lord, wo, wo, wo be unto them, saith the Lord God Almighty, for they shall be thrust down to hell!”
Wo unto them that turn aside the just for a thing of naught and revile against that which is good, and say that it is of no worth! For the day shall come that the Lord God will speedily visit the inhabitants of the earth; and in that day that they are fully ripe in iniquity they shall perish.”
But behold, if the inhabitants of the earth shall repent of their wickedness and abominations they shall not be destroyed, saith the Lord of Hosts.”
But behold, that great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, must tumble to the earth, and great must be the fall thereof.”
For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish;”
For behold, today he is raging in the hearts of the children of men, and stirring them up to anger against that which is good.”
And others he is pacifying, and lulling them away into carnal security, that they are saying: All is well with us; yea, we prosper, all is well—and thus the devil cheats their souls, and leads them away carefully down to hell.”
And still others he flatters away, and tells them that there is no hell; and he says unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispers in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance.”
Yes, they are grasped with death, and hell; and death, and hell, and the devil, and all that have been seized therewith must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence they must go into the place prepared for them, even a lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment.”
Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease today!”
Wo be unto him that cries: All is well!”
Wo be unto him that hearkens unto the precepts of men, and denies the power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost!”
Wo be unto him that says: We have received, and we need no more!”
And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble, and are angry because of the truth of God! For behold, he that is built upon the rock receives it with gladness; and he that is built upon a sandy foundation trembles lest he shall fall.”
Wo be unto him that says we have received the word of God, and we need no more of the word of God, for we have enough!”
For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.”
Cursed is he that puts his trust in man, or makes flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Wo be unto the Gentiles, saith the Lord God of Hosts! For notwithstanding I am lengthening out mine arm unto them from day to day, they still deny me; nevertheless, I will be merciful unto them, saith the Lord God, if they will repent and come unto me; for mine arm is lengthened out all the day long, saith the Lord God of Hosts.”
And then, the voices, crying from the dust, specifically address that part of the Christian community that say they believe in the Bible, those who profess to believe in Christ and in his second coming, but reject the Book of Mormon:
1 But behold, there shall be many—at that day when I shall proceed to do a marvelous work among them, that I may remember my covenants which I have made unto the children of men, that I may set my hand again the second time to recover my people, which are of the house of Israel;
2 And also, that I may remember the promises which I have made unto thee, Nephi, and also unto thy father, that I would remember your seed; and that the words of your seed should proceed forth out of my mouth unto your seed; and my words shall hiss forth unto the ends of the earth, for a standard unto my people, which are of the house of Israel;

3 And because my words shall hiss forth—many of the Gentiles shall say: A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible.4 But thus saith the Lord God: O fools, they shall have a Bible; and it shall proceed forth from the Jews, mine ancient covenant people. And what thank they the Jews for the Bible which they receive from them? Yea, what do the Gentiles mean? Do they remember the travails, and the labors, and the pains of the Jews, and their diligence unto me, in bringing forth salvation unto the Gentiles?
5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people.
6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews?
7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?
8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two nations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.
9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.
10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written.
11 For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written.
12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it.
13 And it shall come to pass that the Jews shall have the words of the Nephites, and the Nephites shall have the words of the Jews; and the Nephites and the Jews shall have the words of the lost tribes of Israel; and the lost tribes of Israel shall have the words of the Nephites and the Jews.
14 And it shall come to pass that my people, which are of the house of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the lands of their possessions; and my word also shall be gathered in one. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my people, who are of the house of Israel, that I am God, and that I covenanted with Abraham that I would remember his seed forever. (2 Ne 28)
For the libertarian and conservative talk show hosts, whose audiences, for the most part anyway, are awake to our awful situation, these words must be most sobering, because they know and understand that the evil cabal, the international secret cartel and the great and abominable church, whose founder is the devil, to which the cabal is beholden, designs to destroy America.
But the Lord has spoken against it, in the fire of his jealousy. He has declared that America is a land choice above all other lands and whatsoever nation possesses it, must serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, or be swept off of it, when they are fully ripe in iniquity. The word of God declares and teaches us that the words of Isaiah are true, that the Lord’s promise to perform a great and marvelous work among this people, who profess him with their mouth and honor him with their lips, but who are in reality far removed from him in their hearts, is his work, his strange work, his act, his strange act, and that it will bring to naught the New World Order, after the New World Order does away with all those who do not repent and put their trust in him, by fleeing to his mountain, Mount Zion.
By the voice of warning, we see how the false religious element will soon be unified into one ecumenical church, all save the church of the Lamb of God, and that this great and abominable church will gather together its multitudes to fight against the church of the Lamb, but that the Lord will preserve the righteous, even if so be as by fire.
Finally, we see that not only was all this predicted by the voices from the dust, but we also understand how the reaction to the voices from the dust, the unbelief, both among the non-biblical churches and the biblical churches, is a rejection of Christ, the Holy One of Israel, just as surely was that of the Jews, when they were destroyed by the Babylonians, and when they were destroyed by the Romans and subsequently scattered throughout the world.
However, while the Jews had the promise, beginning with Moses, that the Lord would remember them in mercy, and gather them together, as a hen gathereth her chicks beneath her wings before the storm, the Gentiles have no such promise.
Just as the following of John the Baptist, in the old world of the Jews, had to decrease, when that from above, Jesus, was come, so too the Zion of America, which is from above, must increase, while the United States of America, which is earthly, must decrease.
This means that the only salvation remaining for the Gentiles is for them to be identified in the same covenant and to worship at the same altar as Israel, when the Lord binds up the breach of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound.
That day is today. Today is the day when, with one voice, those who have slumbered are crying from the dust repentance, as one with a familiar spirit, whom God has given power that he may whisper concerning the ancient covenant people who have dwindled in unbelief, even as it were out of the ground; and their speech is now whispering out of the dust, “Come unto Christ and believe in him and be baptized.”
Yeah, “O my brethren,” they cry, “hearken unto our words; arouse the faculties of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the pains of hell that ye may not become angels to the devil, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.”
Finally, I end with the powerful words of the angel Moroni, who was the resurrected messenger, sent from God, who revealed the Book of his father, Mormon, to the prophet Joseph Smith Jr, in 1823, who wrote these words, while still a mortal, just before his death, which I am confident will penetrate the hearts of the elect unto the uttermost parts of the earth, and bring them to a knowledge of the truth, if only they will ponder and pray to the Father, regarding them:
1 Behold I, Moroni, do finish the record of my father, Mormon. Behold, I have but few things to write, which things I have been commanded by my father.
2 And now it came to pass that after the great and tremendous battle at Cumorah, behold, the Nephites who had escaped into the country southward were hunted by the Lamanites, until they were all destroyed.
3 And my father also was killed by them, and I even remain alone to write the sad tale of the destruction of my people. But behold, they are gone, and I fulfil the commandment of my father. And whether they will slay me, I know not.
4 Therefore I will write and hide up the records in the earth; and whither I go it mattereth not.
5 Behold, my father hath made this record, and he hath written the intent thereof. And behold, I would write it also if I had room upon the plates, but I have not; and ore I have none, for I am alone. My father hath been slain in battle, and all my kinsfolk, and I have not friends nor whither to go; and how long the Lord will suffer that I may live I know not.
6 Behold, four hundred years have passed away since the coming of our Lord and Savior.
7 And behold, the Lamanites have hunted my people, the Nephites, down from city to city and from place to place, even until they are no more; and great has been their fall; yea, great and marvelous is the destruction of my people, the Nephites.
8 And behold, it is the hand of the Lord which hath done it. And behold also, the Lamanites are at war one with another; and the whole face of this land is one continual round of murder and bloodshed; and no one knoweth the end of the war.
9 And now, behold, I say no more concerning them, for there are none save it be the Lamanites and robbers that do exist upon the face of the land.
10 And there are none that do know the true God save it be the disciples of Jesus, who did tarry in the land until the wickedness of the people was so great that the Lord would not suffer them to remain with the people; and whether they be upon the face of the land no man knoweth.
11 But behold, my father and I have seen them, and they have ministered unto us.
12 And whoso receiveth this record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it, the same shall know of greater things than these. Behold, I am Moroni; and were it possible, I would make all things known unto you.
13 Behold, I make an end of speaking concerning this people. I am the son of Mormon, and my father was a descendant of Nephi.
14 And I am the same who hideth up this record unto the Lord; the plates thereof are of no worth, because of the commandment of the Lord. For he truly saith that no one shall have them to get gain; but the record thereof is of great worth; and whoso shall bring it to light, him will the Lord bless.
15 For none can have power to bring it to light save it be given him of God; for God wills that it shall be done with an eye single to his glory, or the welfare of the ancient and long dispersed covenant people of the Lord.
16 And blessed be he that shall bring this thing to light; for it shall be brought out of darkness unto light, according to the word of God; yea, it shall be brought out of the earth, and it shall shine forth out of darkness, and come unto the knowledge of the people; and it shall be done by the power of God.
17 And if there be faults they be the faults of a man. But behold, we know no fault; nevertheless God knoweth all things; therefore, he that condemneth, let him be aware lest he shall be in danger of hell fire.
18 And he that saith: Show unto me, or ye shall be smitten—let him beware lest he commandeth that which is forbidden of the Lord.
19 For behold, the same that judgeth rashly shall be judged rashly again; for according to his works shall his wages be; therefore, he that smiteth shall be smitten again, of the Lord.
20 Behold what the scripture says—man shall not smite, neither shall he judge; for judgment is mine, saith the Lord, and vengeance is mine also, and I will repay.
21 And he that shall breathe out wrath and strifes against the work of the Lord, and against the covenant people of the Lord who are the house of Israel, and shall say: We will destroy the work of the Lord, and the Lord will not remember his covenant which he hath made unto the house of Israel—the same is in danger to be hewn down and cast into the fire;
22 For the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled.
23 Search the prophecies of Isaiah. Behold, I cannot write them. Yea, behold I say unto you, that those saints who have gone before me, who have possessed this land, shall cry, yea, even from the dust will they cry unto the Lord; and as the Lord liveth he will remember the covenant which he hath made with them.
24 And he knoweth their prayers, that they were in behalf of their brethren. And he knoweth their faith, for in his name could they remove mountains; and in his name could they cause the earth to shake; and by the power of his word did they cause prisons to tumble to the earth; yea, even the fiery furnace could not harm them, neither wild beasts nor poisonous serpents, because of the power of his word.
25 And behold, their prayers were also in behalf of him that the Lord should suffer to bring these things forth.
26 And no one need say they shall not come, for they surely shall, for the Lord hath spoken it; for out of the earth shall they come, by the hand of the Lord, and none can stay it; and it shall come in a day when it shall be said that miracles are done away; and it shall come even as if one should speak from the dead.
27 And it shall come in a day when the blood of saints shall cry unto the Lord, because of secret combinations and the works of darkness.
28 Yea, it shall come in a day when the power of God shall be denied, and churches become defiled and be lifted up in the pride of their hearts; yea, even in a day when leaders of churches and teachers shall rise in the pride of their hearts, even to the envying of them who belong to their churches.
29 Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be heard of fires, and tempests, and vapors of smoke in foreign lands;
30 And there shall also be heard of wars, rumors of wars, and earthquakes in divers places.
31 Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth; there shall be murders, and robbing, and lying, and deceivings, and whoredoms, and all manner of abominations; when there shall be many who will say, Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for the Lord will uphold such at the last day. But wo unto such, for they are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.
32 Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins.
33 O ye wicked and perverse and stiffnecked people, why have ye built up churches unto yourselves to get gain? Why have ye transfigured the holy word of God, that ye might bring damnation upon your souls? Behold, look ye unto the revelations of God; for behold, the time cometh at that day when all these things must be fulfilled.
34 Behold, the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you.
35 Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you unto me, and I know your doing.
36 And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.
37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.
38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?
39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?
40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?
41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer. (Mormon 8)
This nation should be dressing itself in sackcloth and ashes, and they should be prostrating themselves before God that he might have mercy upon them. Instead, they are dressing themselves in their finest, adorning themselves with gold and silver and precious things of every type and description, and they are clamoring for tickets to go see the Broadway musical, the Book of Mormon, that they may sport themselves with the word of God.
But they will not hear these words of the book, words which will condemn them at the last day, if they repent not.
For those who know and understand our awful situation, the words of this book will be comforting and reassuring, for they will know that God has spoken in our day and that he has provided a way of escape for them, that they might have the hope of Zion, burning in their hearts, if only they will believe. Hear, now, the final words of the Angel Moroni to Americans and all the earth:
24 And now I speak unto all the ends of the earth—that if the day cometh that the power and gifts of God shall be done away among you, it shall be because of unbelief.
25 And wo be unto the children of men if this be the case; for there shall be none that doeth good among you, no not one. For if there be one among you that doeth good, he shall work by the power and gifts of God.
26 And wo unto them who shall do these things away and die, for they die in their sins, and they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God; and I speak it according to the words of Christ; and I lie not.
27 And I exhort you to remember these things; for the time speedily cometh that ye shall know that I lie not, for ye shall see me at the bar of God; and the Lord God will say unto you: Did I not declare my words unto you, which were written by this man, like as one crying from the dead, yea, even as one speaking out of the dust?
28 I declare these things unto the fulfilling of the prophecies. And behold, they shall proceed forth out of the mouth of the everlasting God; and his word shall hiss forth from generation to generation.
29 And God shall show unto you, that that which I have written is true.
30 And again I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift, and touch not the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.
31 And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
34 And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen. (Moroni 10)
